Costume Electronics

If you’re a performer or costume designer looking to add LEDs to a wearable look, I can help. I create lightweight, easy-to-maintain custom circuits. I’m the perfect answer if you want something professional and durable but can’t afford a big agency project with mandatory on-site technician. I make things easy to use, easy to charge, and provide instructions and training. Why should you hire me to be your wearable electronics expert? I think I offer three big reasons:

  • I use cutting-edge products to create an illuminated look that’s completely custom to you, such as neon-like LED strip, custom 3D printed diffusers, and USB rechargeable circuitry.
  • My strong craft and tech backgrounds enable me to very closely integrate circuitry into costumes, props, and accessories using a variety of expert-level fabrication skills.
  • I especially like working with costume designers to help create their vision, whether it’s augmenting an existing design or creating something new together.
I added LEDs to Buzz Aldrin’s jacket for a moon-themed segment on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert (based on costume designer’s sketch)
I designed and made this “brain cap” costume headpiece using LEDs and flexible 3D printed diffusers, worn by Amy Sedaris in Marcel Dzama’s art film “A Flower of Evil”

Let’s build something together.
